Santiago High School’s Bert Blyleven Inducted Into Baseball Hall of Fame
Mr. Blyleven is a Cavalier from the Class of 1969 and pitched for twenty-two years in the major leagues, including four seasons with the California Angels (1989 – 1992). He was drafted right out of Santiago High School and began pitching for the Minnesota Twins at the age of 19.
Over his career, he won 287 games, threw 3,701 strikeouts, pitched one no-hitter, won two World-Series Championships, and was awarded the Comeback Player of the Year in 1989.
Mr. Blyleven received 79% of the vote for his induction into the Hall of Fame.
