Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice ParkOn the second Tuesday of every month Santa Ana residents can visit the Santa Ana Zoo for FREE with proof of Santa Ana residency (such as drivers license, utility bill, etc.).

The Santa Ana Zoo is open from 10 am – 4pm on Monday-Friday and 10 am – 5pm on Saturdays.  It is located at 1801 East Chestnut in Santa Ana.  It is accessible by a five minute walk from OCTA Route 64 – 1st Street.

The zoo opened in 1952 by Joseph Prentice, who gave the land that the zoo is located on to the City of Santa Ana as long as there are always at least 50 monkeys at the zoo.  The Santa Ana Zoo now occupies 20 acres and hosts more than 270,000 people annually. Along with at least fifty monkeys, you will find a rain forest, endangered species, an aviary, an electrical train and children’s zoo right in the middle of Orange County.
