Feb. 5 – Southern California Transit Forum at Chapman University in Orange
OCTA, the Orange County Business Council, Chapman University, Disneyland, and Congressmember Loretta Sanchez are among the many sponsors of this forum which will take place on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Paul and Daranne Folino Theater at Chapman University in Orange.
The forum will give the general public, transit agency officials and transit-focused advocates and leaders the opportunity to share views and consider potential solutions to meet current transit funding challenges and preserve the future of transit in Southern California.
This will be a great event for transportation and business leaders, policy makers, labor representatives, transit advocates and members of the general public interested in transportation policies and their impact on their community.
Invited speakers include California High Speed Rail Authority Chairman and Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle, Josh Shaw, Executive Director of the California Transit Association, and Will Kempton, CEO of the Orange County Transportation Authority.
The forum will also include an issues discussion about developing transit funding solutions with Art Leahy, CEO of L.A. Metro and former CEO of OCTA, Hasan Ikhrata, CEO of the Southern California Association of Governments, and other state and federal elected officials.
There will also be a dialogue with State leadership moderated by California Transportation Commission Commissioner and Orange County Business Council Chief Executive Officer Lucy Dunn.
